Inks - Motley Della Follia

When I've thought I've finalized on one design, where I am submitting yet another re-design. Some of you might recognize Jazzal, as he was one of my 'recent' characters (ie: displayed in a few submissions a year or moreso ago..) I really don't want to overdo the background, but just a quick recap: Jazzal; the Motley Della Follia (look at me, trying to use another language :I), is a karmaic being of follies and mistakes. He lives off accidents and mishaps, but desires to help people overcome them wherever he may be traveling. His powers range from creating minor to hazardous accidents, parrying mistakes caused by his foes and riposting them back, and dashing away from incoming attacks. Jazzal is one of the moderate beings of his kin, but has a burning desire to know where he comes from and who he is - a topic that plagues over of his kin, but is necessarily forced into the back of their minds. The scars on his body were self-inflicted in a traumatic moment in Jazzal's life; and now he bares them as a reminder of his past lost.

So apart from the character, I'm rather pleased with the inking on this piece. I went back over some of the previous ink lines after erasing the pencil marks, but the scanner brightened the ink a bit more than I would be happy with. So, I increased the curves in GIMP, and gave it a gray background as to help focus on foreground. It's definitely a simple composition, but I enjoyed making it. I especially had fun polishing his outlines with a second inking job. Hopefully, I'll keep up the momentum and have another inked submission soon. (I just hope I can figure out a better way to make the brightness in the lines not so... bright. :/)
